I'm tired of all these people talking how difficult it is to follow a diet. I've found that the reason most diets fail is because they are too difficult to follow once the initial excitement about losing weight is gone. I know it's hard but with the correct amount of planning and commitment to staying on course, there is nothing easier. The secret is in small, simple changes, that you can follow for the rest of your life if you are truly serious.
The important thing to remember is that losing weight isn't easy and often times, it isn't fast either. There are plenty of weight loss tricks and healthy tips which will lose weight. Find one that works for you by developing healthy eating habits. Here are a few simple tips to follow to get a jump start on your new diet: - Don't skip a meal - Many people make the mistake of going on a diet that is nothing but skipping meals. They believe that missing meals means they are cutting calories. What they don't realize is that the only thing they are doing is making themselves more hungry and more likely to overeat later on. Keep your metabolism up and eat three well portioned meals during the day along with some small healthy snacks of crackers or fruits.
- Eat fish - Fish is loaded with health benefits for you. One of those is that fish is high in omega-3 fatty acids. These work towards helping your skin, brain and heart healthy for many years to come. Another positive about fish is that it is low in calories depending on the way it is cooked. Stay away from fried fish for that reason. You want to eat oily ocean fish since they are the best for getting those omega 3's. I recommend eating herring, salmon and tuna .
- Eat fruits and vegetables - If you're anything like me you have a sweet tooth for foods like candy, ice cream, and cookies. I know they are bad for me and loaded with empty calories but you know, sometimes the urge is too much. When I get those cravings, I pick up an tasty apple or banana, however. Not only are fruits and vegetables great for you and help you meet your daily vitamin requirements bu they are also a good source of fiber. Fiber fills you up so you don't feel as hungry which could lead to overeating later on. You will be losing weight and getting healthy. Talk about a great combination.
- Drink water - There are very few things you can put in your body as good for you as water is. My favorite thing about water is the fact it has zero calories. Think about this next time you go for a soda. If you drink a bottle of water instead of a can of soda , you'll cut back on over a 1,000 calories a week.
- Try to get more fiber - Remember how I said that fruits and vegetables are good for you because they are high in fiber? Well, I wasn't lying. Foods with a lot of fiber are low in calories and taste great too.
