Swimming pool lighting has come a long way in recent decades and long gone are the days of unreliable and faulty pool lights. In decades past the choices in pool lighting were limited to say the least and they basically consisted of one electrically wired light on the deep end that lit the whole pool.
Now however; there are now a multitude of choices when it comes to pool lighting and the new choices means far more options when deciding how to light your swimming pool. For instance, you now have the option of spot lights for your pool that will allow you to highlight one or more discreet areas of your pool.
This means that not only will the pool be far more fun and enjoyable to swim in but it can be far more safer as well. Pool lights also now are far more reliable and unlike leaky and unreliable pool lights that lit pools in decades past they are far better sealed with better rubber gaskets that are far less prone to leaks.
One new area of pool lighting that that has appeared on the market recently that more and more people are turning to is fiber optic pool lighting that completely does away with a the need for any electric wiring to run the lights. With fiber optic pool lights the source for the actual light is contained away from the pool and any water.
Each light in a fiber optic pool lighting scheme is powered by a thin glass wire that carries the actual light to its final destination in much the same way as electricity would be carried in an older electrical powered lighting scheme. One of the many benefits of a fiber optic pool lighting system is that it completely does away with the need for individual light bulbs and is basically a permanent glitch free system that will last for virtually the life of the pool.
