Camping in the Daniel Boone National Forest located in Kentucky is quickly becoming one of the most favorite past-times for college aged students and anyone who wants to get away for the weekend and get back to nature. Camping is one of the best ways to learn about a natural forest and experience it completely. Visiting a Forest in the daytime can be a completely different experience from actually staying in the forest for a 24 hour period or longer. Mornings are the most beautiful, and when camping, you can often get up before anyone else and go explore the natural forest and all it has to offer. Fresh morning dew on the tree leaves and the little animal scurrying around for their morning meal can be seen from all views. The air even smells different in the mornings, like it's all new and you are experiencing the freshest breath of air you have ever taken. It feels like clean, crisp, mountain air in the Daniel Boone National Forest. Night time is a new experience as well. You hear many of the natural forest inhabitants that only come out at night like the owl and other nocturnal animals that live in the forest. Eating meals is also a new experience for those of you who have never been camping in the past. Meals always taste better when they are prepared outdoors no matter what they are. It could be regular old hamburgers cooked on an open fire and they would taste like the best filet mignon you had ever tasted. Experiencing life in the forest is something no one should go without doing at least once in their life. You may find it to be your favorite weekend activity to share with your children. When your children grown up and have families of their own, they will have fond memories of the time you spent camping with them. Hopefully, they will return the favor you did for them and take their children camping in a natural forest to continue the cycle of fun and learning in a natural forest setting.
