Most people struggle keeping up with a weight loss diet and fail to reach their weight loss goal. They try new diets hoping for a miracle that never comes. It is only natural for them to blame the diet and to overlook the real cause of their failure: their own mistakes! Some people even go as far as having all kind of foods and claiming they didn't eat anything but a salad! Who are you fooling here?!

If you don't want to become one of these people there are easy ways to stick to your weight loss goal. Their intent is to make you aware of what you are eating in order to prevent any compulsion and temptation. Why don't you try this: write down everything you eat in a day? Every single thing, and at the end of the day reading the list you will b surprised how much you had!

Eating and drinking are, for most of us, just reflexes we build in time. Every time you have a drink or something to eat ask yourself "Why am I eating/drinking?" The answer may be "I am thirsty, hungry, stressed away, bored, tired, and lonely"...God knows what else. If your reason is not thirst or hunger than you shouldn't have that drink or food! Are you depressed? Get some help! Are you lonely? Visit a friend! There are options!

When trying to lose weight never starve yourself. This is one of the most frequent big mistakes in dieing. Unless you have an unusual willing power you will break down and start eating anything you can get your hands on! Starvation also determines your body to save energy therefore you will actually conserve your fat! Your body will not make any difference between dieting and starving therefore you have to have three meals and snacks in between. This is the best method to lose weight.

If you suddenly eliminate from your diet your favorite foods you will create the premises for giving up the diet. Keeping in mind that moderation and not denial is the key to a successful weight loss plan you should keep having every once in a while your faves. Don't feel like cheating but rather feel like taking it slowly and dieting and enjoying the food in the same time.

Last but not least exercising is a must in your weight loss challenge. A little bit of effort and sweat shouldn't scare you. Just like the diet, exercising should start slowly with short sessions and in time should evolve to longer and more intensive sessions. Increase the time you spend exercising with five minutes every week until you reach 50-60 minute sessions minimum. Don't rush! Start small and reach your goal! At the end you will feel great!
