  • Stay away from smells that trigger nausea such as waste, fish, coffee, and others. If you start feeling nausea, take a shower.
  • Prenatal vitamins can reduce nausea. Take them with a starchy meal at night. Avoid a pill containing too much iron.
  • Consult your doctor about taking doxylamine and vitamin B6.
  • Crackers and citrus fruits work wonders.
  • Don’t keep your stomach empty. Take small, frequent meals rich in carbs such as potatoes and rice. Keep on munching throughout the day. But, make sure you munch on healthy snacks that are free from fats and spices and are not fried or acidic.
  • If you don’t like the smell of a particular food, avoid it.
  • Drink plenty of water. Keep a bottle of water handy so that you can sip throughout the day.
  • Take ample rest during the day.
  • If nothing works, go for acupuncture. Experts can give more advice on dealing with it.
  • According to old wives’ tales, consuming bananas, cloves, vitamin B, honey, cola syrup, ice, red raspberry leaf tea, and lemons help to reduce nausea. Ginger and peppermint are also said to work.


  • However, consult your doctor before going for any of these remedies.

  • If you still feel terrible, ask your doctor to prescribe anti-nausea medication. There are several medications available that you can use safely during pregnancy period.
