The new iPAQ packs quite a punch with a 4" VGA screen and 16-bit color, 128MB (~35MB used by operating system) of Program Memory, 256MB (162.55MB usable) of Storage Memory, 24.71MB of File Store, all powered by the mighty 624MHz Marvell PXA310 CPU. It sports both SDHC and CF card slots, 802.11b/g WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, and a nice 2200mAh battery. What's not to love?

To be fair, once the device is on its performance is quite good, and none of the other standard software has shown any glaring issues, but I'm definitely left with the feeling that the 210 would benefit from a good solid ROM update. That's disappointing in a device that's been as long coming to market as this one has -- HP should have had all the kinks worked out.

Just when you thought PDAs were extinct, HP ambles along to release the iPQA 210. Check out the specifications below :-

4" 640 x 480 VGA touch screen display 624MHz Marvell PXA310 processor 128MB SDRAM 256MB Flash ROM 3.5mm headphone jack WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity SDIO and Compact Flash memory card slots

The 4-inch, 640-by-480-pixel screen is beautiful, and while it requires more pressure to activate the digitizer than most devices, I've found it not too hard to adapt to. The extra size makes the default Windows Mobile Classic interface practically finger-friendly

The iPaq 210 has 128MB of SDRAM, 256MB of flash memory, a Marvell PXAA310 CPU clocked at 624Mhz (these run Windows Mobile 6 very well) and a 4-inch 480x640 display. It has an SD card slot and a CF slot, WiFi g, Bluetooth, and a 2200 mAh Liion battery.

Windows Mobile Office is preinstalled on the handheld, which weighs almost 200 grams.

What does it lack? A camera and a cellphone, of course. I expect for a lot of people this will be a double-whammy of failure, but I'll bet a dollar HP knows exactly who its market is here. Unfortunately for HP, Psion has a similar (if much larger) old-school PDA just out which has everything, including 3G, at a similar price: the iKon.

Rockmobile reviews about HP iPAQ 210" The diminutive X50v measures in at just 4.7" high. Looking at the pictures here, you can see that the 210 is clearly more than 0.2" longer than the Axim. As a life-long mechanic and engineer with an eye for sizes, especially relative sizes, the difference here struck me as odd. So, I broke out several measuring devices including a 3x5 card. Sure 'nuff, the HP routinely comes out to 5.25" (133mm) high. However, all the other dimensions check out.
