My son and I, under the constant supervision of "she who must be obeyed", have been able to construct this ongoing project unaided. It's easier with help, but, on the days only one of us could be here, it was possible to keep going.

My son, the jack-of-all-trades, refers to himself as the general contractor; and that's fine. I am quite content with my new hat that he presented me at the very beginning. It reads, "The Older I Get.......THE BETTER I USED TO BE."

To sum up this love affair we are having with our deck:

A deck is not just a deck, it's an investment in outdoorliving space. Decks are all about good food, relaxation and good company.......they're FUN. A well built deck is the easiest, most affordable expansion of your home's living space. Your deck constantly beckons: "Come outside. Relax and breathe for a while. You deserve it." DIY. Construction is possible by the average handyman or woman.

PS Decks reduce the amount of grass we have to cut.
