Today, regardless of the subject matter, people crave information, especially in digital format. Everywhere you look people are creating and offering downloadable eBooks on a range of topics. Whether these materials are sold or given away as a promotional vehicle, it’s clear that information is a hot property of significant value.

In fact, making money with eBooks has become big business. and selling them on eBay is a great way for you to start generating an income stream.

For those of you not familiar with eBooks, they are just what they sound like –written material created in a word processing program like Microsoft Word® and turned into "book" format using either an eBook creation program or Adobe Acrobat.

Creating and selling digital information products is particularly profitable since it requires only an investment of your time. There is no overhead or shipping costs to contend with since the books are actually just a file on your computer and can be delivered immediately to your customers via the internet.

Most eBook sellers actually write their own content. There are so many subjects to choose from that you’re bound to find a topic that you know a lot about. Take the time to research what’s out there and find something different that you can focus on. For example, there are a myriad of make money fast or lose weight now eBooks already out there making the competition too fierce to battle with. Hobbies and How-To eBooks do especially well, but remember that you’re looking for a subject that has a following with little already written about it.

Write in a clear, easy to understand conversational manner, make sure to include a significant number of links and, where possible, names that turn up often on a Google search. In terms of visuals, you’ll want to have a professional looking cover page as well as a photograph for the listing that really shows what your book is about.

If you are uncomfortable coming up with your own material think about asking a friend to go into business with you. Since there are not out-of-pocket costs you can give your author a decent percentage of the profits and still generate a high income for yourself.
