One of the better accessories that Apple the makers of iPod came up with was definitely not the iPod sock. It was popular yes, and it sold, in fact still does sell, like hotcakes despite the outrageously high prices on them. But if you face facts, it wasn’t of any practical use, unlike its counterpart, the iPod armband.

With an iPod sock you could put your iPod inside and proclaim to the world that you have an iPod, and that hey, you have money to burn. It also appeals to most everyone because of its bright funky, and cheerful colors which makes it a must have item for many people.

The problem, however, is that it is just not as functional as the iPod armband. With this although you might not always be able to protect it from adverse weather conditions, you can use it with more functionality than you can the iPod socks.

With an iPod armband you will be able to take your iPod with you where ever you go without having to worry about it. It can be strapped and forgotten as you go about your household chores, and it’s great if you have to carry heavy things and don’t want the iPod to get in the way.

What it is truly ideal for is not any of these purposes, but the purpose for which it was really created: to go with you when you go jogging, or when you go in for a workout. You can take your iPod with you on any one of these jaunts and not be worried that it will fall off due to the strenuous exercise you’re getting.

The iPod armband once on your arm, is secure and it is assured that your iPod will remain in the casing provided until you decide to take it out and remove the armband. Apple has also come up with a sports iPod armband to make matters more convenient for you.

And this sports iPod armband has slightly better coverage and protection for your iPod unlike the normal iPod armband. This means that it won’t get harmed for a little wet weather or for that matter for most weather conditions. Some people however, find the iPod armband to be cumbersome, and feel that could be designed far better.

For anything in life you can be assured that there will always be the people who love it, and the dissenters. It’s up to you, the person who is looking to buy the item, be it the iPod armband or even the iPod itself, to decide whether it suits your needs or not.
