Prior to One Tree Hill, the only drama that I ever used to watch was the Brady Bunch and a few others that were aired on the Star network. The Brady Bunch was a hilarious soap and it was an instant hit worldwide. But a few years back came One Tree Hill. One Tree Hill has had phenomenal success in terms of viewership, through out the USA. It has dominated the tv.com to shows ratings for quite some time now. So what is so good about One Tree Hill? Read on to find out. One Tree Hill is teen drama, which depicts the lives of high school teens. The protagonists in this story are Lucas Scott, Nathan Scott, Peyton Sawyer, Dan Scott, Haley James Scott and Brooke Davis.

The story is set in a town called Tree Hill and the story goes somewhat like this. The whole crux revolves around basketball, relationships and much more. Lucas Scott is a basketball crazy guy, whose not-such-a-nice-guy brother Nathan marries his best friend Haley. Now, Nathan is an absolute jerk (to put it mildly) with Lucas, but later on the brother-brother duo make it up to each other. He marries Haley in the later episodes, but the marriage is pretty much on the verge of a break-up. Haley is a very intelligent woman who then gives birth to a son, Jamie. Peyton Sawyer is a girl who has feelings for Lucas and she is also a great fan of Rock music. Peyton is an adopted girl, who discovers this fact only in Season 2, who finally meets her real mother, who unfortunately dies due to Cancer.

Brooke Davis happens to be the cheerleading squad captain through her high school years. She has tried to be in a relationship with Lucas twice, but in vain. Earlier in the show, she is shown as Peyton’s best friend but following certain incidents, they break up. She then starts her own clothing line and fashion brand and this turns out to be very successful. Though she is successful, she begins to feel the stress of being lonely and hence Peyton and herself, find themselves returning to Tree Hill. Dan Scott is the father of Lucas and Nathan. He was once a great basketball star wants to be rid of Lucas and hence does not claim him. Under circumstances, he shoots his brother fatally and finds himself in a pit of trouble.

Whew! It is going to take a while to process all that. This is the essential essence of One Tree Hill. Not impressed? One Tree Hill has always found itself a place in the top 5 of the tv.com highest rated TV shows, which is quite an achievement in itself. One Tree Hill shows the typical American high school situation and is pretty much a copy of what really happens in a teenager’s life. The fact that teens can connect with the show, has what made it such a phenomenal success globally. The first time I saw One Tree Hill, the first thoughts that came to my mind were my High School days and of course all those superhot cheerleaders! What is high school without cheerleaders? Right? One Tree Hill is amazing. Rock on guys!
