In continuation of Part I on your guide to making money from your website, Part II provides other opportunities of monetizing from your website. To reiterate, adopting a unique mix of strategies that cater to your business and niche assists in your efforts to monetize from your website.

Below are other options to consider:

1. In-Text Adverting

How it Works: This strategy is based on certain keywords or projects that are sponsored link within a text that appear as hyperlinks and are distinguished by double lines.

Getting Paid: You are paid for every click that occurs on a sponsored link.

Rule of Thumb: It general, this type of website monetization can be distractive to the user when scrolling through the text. However, it still acts as a valuable referral tool to other sites and products.

2. Pop-ups

How it Works: This is a widely used approach that enables companies to advertise through pop-ups or pop-unders. Bear in mind pop-unders provide a better return than pop-ups mainly because users have a tendency to close pop-ups before they are fully loaded; whereas pop unders appear in the background

Getting Paid: Pop unders yield higher return than pop ups.

Rule of Thumb: Pop ups are generally considered annoying by the user. Today, many web browsers have "pop up blockers" which may make them less effective.

3. Audio Ads

How it Works: This is a relatively new type of advertising tool that utilizes short audios (5-10 seconds in length).

Getting Paid: Pay Per Play approach which pays anywhere from $ 4-$6 for every 1000 clicks.

Rule of Thumb: Audio Ads in general provide high conversion rates as the user has no control on the audio settings. It can, however, be distractive and intrusive. Resources: Net Audio Ads

4. Renting Internal Pages

How it Works: This method involves renting or selling internal pages of a website.

Getting Paid: You are able to charge a fee to rentals or sales of internal pages.

Rule of Thumb: Website with high page ranks and traffic have great income potential. Implementing this strategy in a blog may be difficult.

5. Donations

How it Works: Donations is a popular way to monetize. With a "donate" link on your website or blog, readers have an option to remunerate your efforts through Paypal or other service.

Getting Paid: In addition to monetary donations, other popular modules include "buy me a beer/coffee" plugin.

Rule of Thumb: Depending solely on donations could limit income generation, although implementing too many income-generating activities to the site in addition to "donation" is not recommended. Donation does, however, acts as a great incentive for you to continue to provide great content to the readers. To be able to successfully monetize from this strategy, you would require a strong regular readerbase and traffic
