As an active member of affiliate marketing and the voice in the industry, I must say that affiliate marketing can change the traditional outlook of business in India. Indian marketplace is vast and accommodates hundreds and thousands of competitors and brands that are vying for a space in the minds of the people. Starting from popular cities, the brand promotions and marketing on affiliate’s sites can give a strong footing to the business enterprise.

So far as the industry is concerned, one can have clues from Western models and the status of the industry at these places. The best markets to probe would indeed be the ones in UK and US. If they seem too far and too complicated to have any kind of correlation with the business scene in India, China would be the next good example.

If you observe the statistics and read the markets, you will definitely be seeing the signs; positive developments in the Indian context.

It is now the responsibility of Indian affiliate networks to take on the industry to the next level of development and beat the growth curves that have been monitored till this time. One of the primary concerns faced by Indian affiliate networks is indeed the promotion of the marketing practices and the acceptance and endorsement of the industry. We are not looking for some Bill Gates or Larry Page to rewrite the history but coordination and unity among small and big affiliate networks in the industry.

Affiliate networks must give to themselves the industry norms and the code of conduct in the industry. There must be some agency that looks at the promotional aspects as well as others like regulations and standards.

Outside the country and at International level, affiliate marketers have failed to organize and constitute a working group that would look at the aforementioned aspects. Indian affiliate market can take the leading role and put down the foundation stone.

According to our own observation and findings, there are not many people who are interested about the concerns related to industry. However, it can be one of the worst slip-up to isolate from the concerns and be focused on the interests and profits only. This is a wake up call to all Indian Affiliate Networks. Tomorrow can be ours.
