In 2007, I chose to have monthly maintenance phototherapy treatment sessions so that my eyes would not regress over time. My see, say, hand movement exercise utilizing the printed arrows is slowly becoming hardwired between what the right eye sees and the brain interprets. I am having increasing frequency of success at doing the entire exercise correctly. At my November 2007 session, I was able to do all of my see, say, hand- movement-exercises without error. I have learned slow, deliberate movements.
Also, I allow my eyes to see without glasses when ever my activity allows me to do so – like walking, using my exercise machines, gardening, and some reading in bright sunlight. I do a tracing exercise each morning without glasses quite successfully.
As noted in the description of the Spectral Receptivity System, the physical act of seeing with our eyes is but the window to expand awareness and consciousness that affects our entire lives, lifelight. As noted over and over in Chapters II (Light: Foundational Energy of the Universe), III (A History of the Physics of Light), and IV (The Medicine of Light) of my book, Teilhard de Chardin, Zajonc, Liberman, and others have stressed the interconnectedness of the without (the body) and the within (the mind and every form of psychism or consciousness). The outer and inner lights are intimately related, each affecting the other.
During our earth lives we experience constant change. How present and receptive we are to what life offers us each day has a significant effect on our wellness. I would agree with Dr. Lizotte’s notes on one of Dr. Liberman’s 1994 lectures where they relate that, "our lives are always a reflection of our state of consciousness and presence. Our experiences are a mirror image of the way we live our lives." Living in each moment means that we accept (but may not like) what life is offering. We try to see our lives as a whole, to focus on the entire doughnut and not the hole.
We are reminded once again that modern quantum Physicists believe that everything we experience is vibratory in nature – all matter is frozen in light. Life is actually light energy that appears to be solid because of an illusion created by the mind. Without powerful microscopes some things appear to be "solid" which are really in a constant state of flux.
Colors are one of these illusory projections of the mind due to our visual interpretations, the way we see the different vibrations that make up our experience. Phototherapy utilizes the fact that "the colors we are attracted to are the vibrational equivalencies of our life experiences that we are receptive to – the aspects of life we say ‘yes’ to."
The colors we don’t like (supposedly), relate to unresolved, negative, past experiences – our attempts to protect ourselves from life. If it is true that colors we are unreceptive to are a key to our expansion and healing, then becoming receptive to what we are resisting creates expansion of our consciousness and wellness on every level.
Dr. Lizotte shared with me his experience regarding the phototherapy treatment of three women who all had negative reactions to the color orange. He found that all of them had been sexually molested when very young. After the final phototherapy session one of the women came in wearing bright orange and a big smile. She told him that she had conquered the suppression of the molestation, was now able to be present to it, and felt a great sense of release. He discussed these cases and their results with several psychotherapists and found that they too had gotten the same results as he had, given the same repression, and the color orange.
