2008 is promising for the first time buyer! Purchasing a home is a blessing for you and/or your family!
We believe that God's best is homeownership. First time buyers should understand that it doesn't happen overnight. Buying a home takes planning and preparation before you purchase. Renting is part of the pre-home buying process to get your feet wet with responsibility before making the commitment to become a home buyer.
With faith and the proper plan of action you will become a first time buyer in 2008 if you so desire.
There is no better time for new home buyers than NOW! You have everything working in your favor such as low interest rates and motivated sellers. When you hear the media talking about a "buyers market" this is what they are referring to (low interest rates and lower home prices). If you're considering purchasing a home this year...prepare yourself and do it!
We would like to share a few nuggets to carry along with you as you prepare for the journey...
ACTIVATE YOUR FAITH
Activate your faith NOW...we'll wait right here for you! Alright, if you're still reading this then we know your activation has shifted into gear! Activating your faith is essential to the home buying process. You have to first believe with your faith that you deserve your own home. Then you have to know that you can purchase your own home. The two vital activation steps are: BELIEVE and KNOW. Once you've got those you're unstoppable!
WRITE THE VISION
Write your vision for homeownership. God instructs us to write the vision and make it plain. This "literally" means taking out a sheet of paper and writing down your visions, hopes and dreams for your new home. God wants to know your hearts desires, but most importantly he wants you to "see" what he is capable of doing for you and/or your family by providing you with a home of your own.
When you begin to write your vision include your goals and time lines. Decide "when" you are going to purchase (i.e. in 3 months, 6 months, 9 or 12 months) from the date of writing your vision. Also, include how you will save money in your vision (i.e. $50 per week for $200 per month for 6 months). You "must" include your goals and when you plan to have those goals completed for your time line.
Writing your vision keeps you focused and accountable to what you plan to achieve. Post it up where it can be easily seen. Read it daily to yourself, spouse and children. In order to achieve homeownership you have to clearly see it, have a "VISION" for it. And, believe and know that it is within your reach!
COMMIT TO YOUR DECISION
Commit to your decision to purchase a home within 12 months. It will happen if you will "commit" to making it happen. This will mean making short-term sacrifices to your lifestyle and possibly changing a few spending habits. That's why we encourage you to write the vision, therefore, you can "see" where you're going and what it takes to get there. If your goal is to save $2,000 towards your home purchase you have to find ways to make that happen...cut back on shopping, eating out, vending machines at work, etc. It may mean moving in with your parents or relatives so that you can save more by eliminating your rent.
