If you are like most network marketers starting out, you have very little money to spend on marketing your business. What I am about to share with you here is one of the most powerful marketing tools available to you today and it is absolutely free.

MySpace currently has over 100 million members, making it a larger community than most countries around the world. Fox paid $560 million for this community which gives you an idea of the potential it holds for marketing. Notice, I said potential. There is a big difference between potential and reality. If used efficiently, MySpace can bring you an endless supply of free leads for your business, but where do you start?

Building a MySpace profile can seem really overwhelming at first. Luckily, there are a lot of great tools to help you build your profile and personalize it to match your personality. Many of these are completely free. To find them, go to MySpace and start searching other people’s profiles, you will see lots of links to different tools you can use to customize your page. It is very helpful to use an html editor to add information to your page. Don’t worry; you don’t need to be a computer programmer to do this. Creating modules for your page is as simple as typing a word document. There are many good WYSEWYG (what you see is what you get) html editors available on the internet. The one I use can be found at www.reallgraphics.com and is completely free.

The thing to remember as you create your profile is to have fun with it and be unique. You want to create a page that people enjoy going to. This is not a sales page where you peddle your wares. Remember, prospects don’t join companies, they join you. MySpace is where you can show them who you are and what you are about. Post pictures of your family, your dog, your last vacation. Don’t limit the content to your business opportunity; this will be a huge turnoff to your prospects. Don’t forget to add some video content. This helps your prospects view you as an actual person. Don’t worry if you are not a movie star or super model, most of us aren’t. Just be yourself. People appreciate sincerity. Don’t worry if the content of your page seems limited at first. Your page will constantly evolve as you do. Just try to do a little bit every day.

Once you have your basic profile in place it is time to start inviting people to be your friend. Start with the people you know. Use the google, yahoo, and gmail tools provided by MySpace to invite people from your address books. Search for classmates from high school and college, friends, relatives, anyone you think might have a profile. Start getting your profile out with as many people as you can.
