The European country of Netherlands is mainly composed of several rivers. You have three large ones: Rhine and its tributaries, Meuse and Waal. Their presence actually parts the country into two. A great portion of the country is low lying, which means it's below sea level. There are also some parts that have been reclaimed such as Flevoland polder. Still, whatever is left is used by those who love sailing in the Netherlands, especially during summers.

IJsselmeer, or Lake IJssel, is a very shallow lake located in the central portion of the Netherlands. It's also situated near North Holland, Flevoland, and Friesland. The waters measure between 5 and 6 meters. There are plenty of things that you can do here, besides sailing in the Netherlands. You can try to catch a fish in the river of IJssel or in the lake. There are also plenty of birds and marine species that inhabit the area.

On your holiday, take your %yacht charter% to the Wadden Sea. It is a large shallow wetland found in Netherlands. It's strategically located near Noord-Holland, Groningen, and Friesland. The whole area is approximately 250,000 hectares, 160,000 of which is declared as natural reserve. There are also plenty of mud flats, deep trenches, and islands. Because it's usually unexplored, there is a rich diversity of flora and fauna in the area. Wadden Sea is also part of the Wadden Sea National Parks, composed of Schleswig-Holstein Wadden Sea National Park and Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park, Hamburg Wadden Sea National Park.

Frisian Islands, meanwhile, is a good destination among those who enjoy sailing in the Netherlands, especially during the summer. During wintertime, on the other hand, they would usually follow hiking trails toward the rugged mountains of Netherlands. There are also a number of ski resorts close to the area. There are a number of ways that you can reach the islands. You can travel by air or take a ferry. A number of the islands cannot provide you with a mode of transportation, so you may want to bring your car with you.

Because of the presence of several bodies of water, sailing in the Netherlands is a popular pastime. Nevertheless, you can also walk into old towns, hop from one island to another, or simply enjoy the beautiful natural sceneries that make up the country.
