If you feel that your marriage is heading towards a divorce, now is the time to act so that you can preserve whatever is left of your marriage.

Is it Time to Analyse Your Relationship and Have a Heart-to-heart Chat With Your Spouse?

Many times, we do not pay much attention to marital fights or issues because we are too consumed in fulfilling our daily tasks and responsibilities. The usual fast-paced morning routine and the hectic evening schedule may not leave anytime for you and your partner to talk to each other. In fact, some couples just sit and watch TV together while having dinner because engaging in a conversation itself can seem like a task after a long and hectic day.

Many couples experience such a severe communication breakdown that no matter what they talk about, it always leads to a fight. In such cases, couples can reach the end of the communication bridge very soon, which can spell disaster for a marriage. Have you started feeling that you do not know what to talk about with your spouse?

It is common for some people to go through this phase of marriage as well. In such cases, even when couples take the time out to spend time with each other, all they do is blankly stare at empty spaces, at each other, or at people around them. This also indicates a communication barrier in the marriage and should not be dismissed as a natural progression of a marriage.

If you feel that there is trouble lurking in your marital paradise, it will be a good idea to sit down and have a heart-to-heart chat with your partner. Do not hesitate to be the one to initiate this discussion. Make sure that you do not let your partner feel as if you are blaming him or her.

Always remember that it takes two people to make a marriage work. Therefore, do not think that you are Mr or Miss Perfect. We all have our own set of limitations but marriage is all about working on these limitations and growing as people as well as a couple.

Often, couples with no children think that having children will solve their marital problems. However, when your marriage is unstable, it would be best to concentrate your time and energy on resolving your problems before taking up such a huge responsibility.

What Can You Do to Revive the Old Charm?

Reviving the old charm in your marriage may not be as hard as you think. All it takes is serious commitment from the couples’ end to make the marriage work. With your goals on the right track, things can fall back into place very easily. Rather than complaining about things, make things happen. For example, rather than saying, "we never go for outings together" say, "lets go for an outing together". We have come up with some tried and tested techniques that you can use to revive the old magic in your marriage.

• Spend Quality Time Together

Often couples think that they are spending a lot of time together, but it is the quality and not the quantity of time that makes a difference. Plan outings together or engage in hobbies that you both enjoy doing. A couple friend of mine plan regular bowling nights to ensure that they not only spend time together but also have fun.
