One of these things is not like the others, One of these things just doesn’t belong, Can you tell which thing is not like the others By the time I finish my song? Did you guess which thing was not like the others? Did you guess which thing just doesn’t belong?
I’m still working hard and losing fat. Still making steady progress which is what it’s all about. One of the funnier things about dropping a bunch of fat is that you tend to look a lot hairier: you have the same amount of hair, but it’s spread out over a smaller surface area.
In case you were wondering, the photo of that bloated whale-man is not an extra from the next X-Men film, but was me in October 2006, about a year before the start of my transformation (yes it took me that long to pull my finger out and start doing something about it - how long has it taken you?) If your before photos look anywhere near as bad as mine, you need to get seriously pissed off and do something. And if you've made a little progress, don't get too comfortable either. As soon as you get "happy" or "content" it’s game over - before you know it, you’ve turned into mutant whale-man again.
Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not talking about walking around miserable all the time - far from it. I’m ecstatic with my progress - I’ve undone almost 2 years of being fat & lazy & eating crap - all in less than 4 months. That’s the sweetest thing about this whole transformation thing - it’s not going to happen instantly, but if we do it right, getting out of this horrid unhealthy condition is a lot faster than getting into it. Which is just as well - I’m in my mid 30s now … and with the big four-oh looming ever closer, last October I certainly felt it. I never imagined getting old - let alone feeling old too. Already I feel and look younger. People who let themselves fall apart (people like the old me) just don’t get that. It only takes 2 hrs per week to hugely improve your entire quality of life over the other 166 hours (Yes, even my sleep is better!)
Even better - the more muscle you build, the higher your metabolism and the more you can eat without gaining fat. I’m not depriving myself either - if timed properly, you can still have regular periods of refeeding/cheating. I’ve had a cheat day once a week almost since I started. One of these days I’ll have to post exactly what I eat on a cheat day - you will never guess how much.
Anyway, have you had your phoenix moment yet? Where will you be in 4 months?
