As with any natural skin care therapy or skin care treatment there is nothing that works for everybody all the time. The same rule applies to photo facial and LED photo-rejuvenation. On the other hand, thankfully it does work for most of us. So what can someone do to improve their chances of getting that radiant youthful glow from their skin that LED photo rejuvenation is renown for?

Well it’s a matter of getting back to the basics, not only in natural skin care treatment but doing the things we all know we should do. We’ll go over a few of those basics here.

The first and most important thing you can do is to drink plenty of water. This alone is a must in skin care treatment. Your water intake should minimally be a function of your body weight. A rule of thumb to follow would be to drink 1 ounce of water for every 2 pounds of body weight. The logic here being the larger you are, the greater the surface area you have that is eliminating water, e.g. mainly the skin, lungs and urinary tract. Remember this is in addition to any other liquids you may be drinking. The quality and pH of water is important too. Without going into detail I would say that you should lean towards the spring waters and stay away from "purified" bottled water. The reason I say this is because spring waters are generally more alkaline and purified waters such as Desani and Aquafina are made using reverse osmosis, which makes the water acidic. These acid waters have an aging and disease-promoting tendency, as do acidic foods. Also, alkaline waters tend to hydrate us better making our skin plumper and more youthful looking. In a future article I will go into more detail about the benefits of alkaline vs. acidic and how this can aid in your own personal skin care treatment.

Another basic is to avoid sugar and particularly foods and beverages made with high fructose corn syrup. Sugary foods are extremely acidic and accelerate the aging process due to the stress it places on our metabolism when it attempts to compensate for this acidity. If you want aging skin eat sugar.

In addition to the above, eating processed foods is another way to frustrate your attempts to regain that youthful glow. Another rule of thumb…shop the perimeter of the grocery store. If you stay out of the food aisles you’ll be able to avoid all those packaged foods that are convenient but a tragedy, not only for your health but also, for your goals in good natural skin care.

Since I’m wrapping this up you know what I’m going recommend now…. that’s right exercise. Healthy youthful skin also comes from getting a little exercise. I’m not talking about 3 hour visits to the gym 5 days a week, but how about walking 30 to 45 minutes, 4 days a week. The point here is that the benefits from increasing your circulation just that much will show.

By taking a natural skin care approach, and following these simple rules as a foundation when doing wonderful things for your skin, namely LED photo rejuvenation, you’ll stack the deck in your favor and get the results that will have people asking "Have you had something done?"
