How to Avoid Misleading Saliva Ovulation Test Results
In this article you will find some useful information that will help you to achieve most accurate saliva ovulation test results. Different ovulation test results during the day. Cause: Certain factors such as food, alcohol or smoking may affect the analysis of saliva, and show misleading results. The best time to test your saliva is in the morning, before brushing the teeth, eating or drinking. Therefore, as your instruction booklet suggests, we recommend only testing your saliva in the morning when you awake. Solution: Only test your saliva first thing in the morning. Do not eat or drink anything before the test to achieve most accurate test result. The picture is out of focus. Cause: Microscope's diopter lens is not adjusted. Solution: Gently turn the lens to sharpen and adjust the picture to the desired clarity. Ovulation microscope window appears to be blank. Cause: While applying the saliva, the glass has been pressed hard with your finger and consequently your saliva has been pressed out. Solution: Clean the optic lens and reapply saliva gently to the lens surface, taking care to avoid leaving any air bubbles. Cloudy image in the ovulation microscope test window. Cause: It is most likely that your saliva did not dry completely. Solution: Allow several more minutes for the drying/crystallization process to end. The microscope light does not turn on! Cause: Expired batteries. Please remember that humid condition may cause corrosion of the batteries. We recommend to store your MaybeMOM™ device in a dry place. Solution: The light system is designed for a long-term use. Considering that MaybeMOM™ Saliva Ovulation Test device should not be stored in the bathroom or in other humid areas, your batteries should last for at least 3-5 years in dry conditions. We do not have control over the warehousing conditions of retailers where you purchased the product, so we recommend to make sure that batteries inside your device are clean and dry. Here is how you clean your batteries:
- Hold the device so the lens part of the device is pointing town, and the gray part with a light switch is on top.
- Gently turn little gray part of the microscope body to the left.
- Carefully pull out the light system mechanism.
- Very carefully pull out the plastic piece on the lighting mechanism. Make sure not to rip the wire!
- You will see two batteries. Take out both batteries.
- Clean batteries with rubbing alcohol, dry with a cloth and put batteries back, plus sign down.
- Reassemble the device by putting the light system back in the body of the device.
- Gently turn little gray part of the microscope body to the right.
Your device should work now.
In addition, please remember that certain medication, such as birth control pills, and medical conditions, including infections and diseases may affect the saliva crystalline structure. If you are on medication or if you suspect any medical condition you might have, please consult your doctor.
