Knowing how to learn French with simple and painless learning techniques can increase your ability to absorb and really understand the language. Many basic learning techniques that are taught in classrooms and independent programs help you to memorize but not retain information. If you want to learn French and be proficient, you have to apply what you 'memorized' in your daily life.

It is important to know that there is no magic formula for learning French, or any other foreign language for that matter. It requires time, patience and willingness, but with the right training and some simple techniques, you'll know how to learn French and other languages more efficiently and quickly.

Here are some easy tasks to help you learn French.

Language Journal: When you start learning a new language, it's helpful to make entries into a journal log or, even better, a BLOG. Write about the different kinds of trouble you run into, what's the hardest part about the language, and the different methods and practices you've been following. Mark down moments that you remember, like the first time you understood a conversation you overhead. What did you remember hearing and translating?

Online French Lessons: In addition to your current program on how to learn French, you can use online French lessons to build vocabulary, improve grammar and pronunciation and work on lessons for verbs. There is a lot of free information that lack creativity that isn't geared towards people who have a hard time learning French or aren't sure how to learn French. But you'll also find solid programs off and online that will teach you in a way that will make it hard not to learn French.

Fun and Games: When you're brain is overloaded and you're tired of studying, take a break with some fun games. You can read comics, jokes, crossword puzzles, and games. There are lots of sites with vocabulary games, funny tongue twisters, and mind-benders. Taking a mental break is critical to retaining information and learning French. If you're an advanced student, there are exercises involving web research and critical analysis to help improve your French in a fun way.

Unlike learning math, history and other subjects where memory is important, learning a new language requires practice. Memorizing vocabulary and phrases won't do you any good if you can't use them. Compliment what you learned by practicing reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Figuring out how to learn French doesn't have to be hard.

I encourage you to learn more about the French language. But if you're just starting out, do yourself a favor and don't waste any more money on all those different language learning programs. Instead, save yourself money by investing in the same resource that helped me to learn French. I highly recommend it.
