Let me begin by saying that I encourage the use of quality bottled water over unknown water supply quality, and prefer to use bottled water over even highly rated municipal water due to decreased chemical content and better taste, and that I do not mean to imply or appear to state that bottled water is in any way "harmful" to you the user. Having said that I also want to quantify my remarks in saying that if you apply a scale of quality to unknown water quality, to municipal water to bottled water to finally filtered system water, you will have a scale of bad, good, better, best. The purpose of this article is to inform and remind the users of bottled water of some hidden or down played facts that exist, that water filter systems deal with effectively and make them superior to using bottled water. My research has revealed that there is three main reasons people buy bottled water: first, better taste; second, safer to drink; third, healthy volume of water consumed daily. Lets look at each of these and discover how you can improve an already good situation.
First is the issue of improved taste of drinking water. Bottled water is far better than tap water in almost every location nation wide in providing better flavor. Bottled water eliminates the chalky and chlorine taste and other contaminants to taste that may not be harmful, but definitely effect taste. Other than a reverse osmosis system for softening of the water, most filter systems will actually do a better job of improving the flavor or taste of tap water than the bottled water, such as those found at Water Filter Kits. The added advantage is that by also removing 99% of the chlorine found in most systems, the water tastes even better than the bottled water product. By sampling the bottled water, and then the filtered water, a person can actually taste the improved flavor even beyond the bottled water. Best of all, the 3 year filter is more economical ounce per ounce than bottled water. If you need portability, then just re-fill those unused bottles for a day's drinking water. Need to save for the next day, or last all day without bacteria growth, then re-fill ¾ of the bottle and freeze the night before.
Second is the issue of safer drinking water. Undoubtedly bottled water offers improved health and longevity due to lower chemical introduction into the body. Anything that reduces our level of chemical exposure and free radicals in our system is a good thing. But, one hidden negative of the bottled water, not found in the household water filter system is that for the bottled water to stay clean and fresh, it must have some form of a preservative chemical as part of its mixture. Otherwise bacteria would grow unchecked in the bottle. Take for example using the 3 year filter element from Water Filter Kits. It contains a Z-1 active element that is bacteriostatic, which means that it actively prevents bacteria growth in the system, even when the water is sitting static during periods of no flow. Other systems have similar methods of bacteria growth inhibiting or prevention. This prevention is a critical difference between bottled water and water filter systems because the water filter system does so without the introduction of a treatment chemical or chemicals, unlike the municipal system, or bottled water content. This difference makes the water filter system far superior to even the high quality found in most bottled water.
Lastly, we look at the volume of recommended water intake by the FDA for a healthy person. This is more of just being matter of fact. If the water tastes better, and has fewer chemicals, then it will be absorbed better by the body, be more refreshing and satisfying when you drink it, and will be a more enjoyable experience for each person. Facts show undeniably that people will always seek out pleasurable circumstances, and so if the water they drink quenches their thirst better, and has a better flavor, then the person is more likely to drink what they should and enjoy it while they do.
Bottled water is good, and should be used anytime the choice is tap water or some other questionable source, or the bottle. But if you really want to elevate your health to the highest it can be, and my guess is that the reason you are drinking bottle water to begin with is you want the increased health benefits, then invest in a water filter system that will take you to the next level. You will only be satisfied…
