All affiliate marketers are striving to find the best marketing tactics which will bring in traffic to their website. Sometimes, online marketers will fall for a magic formula or a quick fix approach. Unfortunately, it isn't quite that easy. What really works are the tried and proven legitimate forms of marketing. A lot of dedication and hard work will be required to succeed.

Below, are three strategies which you should incorporate into your overall marketing plan. If you follow these, you will consistently increase your sales and be a long term successful affiliate marketer.

1. You should use a unique web page to promote every product you are trying to sell. You don't want to lump all of your products on one page, as this looks very cluttered and it just confuses your visitors. It is much better to have a separate page to outline each product in detail.

It is helpful to have product reviews on your web pages so that potential buyers will have a better understanding of the product. Also, include testimonials for the products. Testimonials are a crucial element to include and visitors really do read them. The best testimonials will include the name, photo and website of the person who has given it.

In addition to having unique web pages for each product, you should write a comprehensive article for each product, which highlights the uses and benefits of each. All of these articles can then be turned into separate web pages, which can in turn, be linked to from the product page. Every article should include a call to action (to buy the product). Also, every headline should be structured to entice the reader to move on. In each article, it is a good idea to include your email address.

2. Always offer free reports, newsletters and e-books to your readers. These offers should be located near the top of your page, on either sidebar, so they cannot be missed. A free newsletter offer is great and this can be constructed so that visitors can opt into it by filling in their name and email address. The opt in box should be linked to your auto responder so that they can start receiving your newsletter. Research shows that a potential client must see a version of your newsletter at least seven times before they buy. In my experience, they need to see it much more than seven times to be effective. If a visitor lands on a simple web page, only two things can happen. They will either buy something or they will leave and never return (usually they leave). Now, if you have a free newsletter that they can opt into, then you can hang onto this potential client for a while. With the newsletter, you can automatically send them useful information by email on a scheduled basis. You can insert reminders about the product inside the body of each newlsletter. Just don't make it sound too much like a sales letter pitch. It is better to use a softer approach.

When you mention the product in the newsletter, you'll want to stress how the product will improve the buyer's life. Compelling lines should be incorporated into the email. Try to avoid using the word "free" in the body of the email, as this will trigger many spam filters. Convince the potential buyer that they will miss out on something big if they don't buy your product or service.
