8. Before mowing the lawn for the first time each season, have the mower serviced to ensure it is working properly. Wear shoes that fully cover your feet when mowing the lawn. My neighbor who mangled his toe wished he had not worn his flip flops while mowing his lawn.

9. It's okay, in fact it is a good idea to take frequent breaks and drink lots of fluids to prevent dehydration. Water is a great drink to give your body energy.

10. Use padding on your knees or use a movable pad to place on the ground when kneeling to pull weeds or doing other chores. This can save your knees from hurting.

11. And by all means know the signs of a heart attack and if you experience chest pain, shortness of breath or other signs of a heart attack, call 911 and seek emergency care.
