A Detailed Description of Bluetooth Technology

1. Abstract

Bluetooth is such a unique kind of device which provides the facilities like low-cost wireless communications, networking between PCs, mobile phones & other devices, etc.

Bluetooth presents the "Low Bandwidth Wireless Connections" as the most feasible usage of the tool that it can easily be incorporated into daily life. Bluetooth would offer wireless connection between the Internet and other concerning devices. Bluetooth are operating these days in the "Global Radio-Frequency Standards" that functions at frequency 2.4 GHz ISM band and providing license-free operation in the United States and most of the other countries of the world. The facility of Bluetooth wireless technology surrounded by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group and in the user society is provided by 9 romoter companies such as 3Com, Microsoft, Motorola, IBM, Lucent, Ericsson, Intel, Nokia, and Toshiba.

2. Operation of Bluetooth

Bluetooth technology operates along with radio signals surrounded by the diminutive distances. The BlueSpace software originates the VAIO computer. Bluetooth software is particularly designed for CLIΙ and Sony Ericsson cellular phones. BlueSpace is exclusive Sony software that persists towards the VAIO computer to fix to other Bluetooth devices.

• BlueSpace software follows certain sorts of comprehensive tasks.

• It provides and facilitates the Connection to other Bluetooth devices.

• It creates the grade of the connections and considering a general idea of the Bluetooth services.

3. Sony Bluetooth contains three elements

• It performs a device discovery to search for other Bluetooth-enabled devices within radio range.

• It selects tool to execute a service detection to rummage around for available services and applications.

• It creates a connection with the device by choosing the required service and application.

4. Protocol Architecture

Bluetooth contains with a layered protocol architecture that is consisting of core protocols, cable replacement, telephony control protocols and adopted protocols.

The core protocols contain such types of elements.

Radio

It records detailed information regarding the air interface including frequency, the use of frequency hopping, modulation scheme and transmit power.

Baseband

It is incorporated with the connection creation within a piconet, addressing, packet format, timing and power control.
