Every dog needs its share of regular exercise. No pet owner can deny that. But giving your canine its fair share of sweat can sometimes be a problem. For one thing, few people have the time to walk their dog once or twice a day 24/7. Another enormous problem is one of space. Not everyone has the luxury of a fenced-in yard. Taking a dog for a walk in the open is fraught with problems. Unless your dog has been trained extremely well, you could end up with an expensive lawsuit on your hands. It’s in this context that dog exercise pens become very handy.

An exercise pen has a lot of advantages. It provides your canine with an opportunity for regular exercise. It allows him to relieve himself in a safe enclosure. One of its most popular uses is as an addition to a dog crate, where you can place your puppy while he is being housetrained. Most importantly, the exercise pen keeps your pet safe from other animals and oncoming traffic. It also prevents the dog from running to areas that may be hazardous. Pens give your excitable little dog ample but restricted area to run around and play. Besides, an exercise pen is highly portable, so you can move it from one place to another, thus preventing damage.

Readymade exercise pens come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Look for an exercise pen made of heavy gauge wire. This ensures extra security for the dog. Exercise pens come in different heights ranging from almost 24 inches to forty eight inches, so it is easy to match the pen to the size of your dog. Some pens have a built in door with latch that ensures extra safety. Choosing a pen with corner stabilizers may be a good idea, particularly if you own a large dog. Most readymade dog exercise pens are easy to set up and can generally be used both outdoors as well as indoors. Choose a dog exercise pen that is hardy and tough because this will offer your dog many years of fun and frolic while keeping him away from harm’s way.

Dog exercise pens are portable enclosures where your dog can walk or run to its heart content without putting you, another person or itself in danger.
