When you’re in the direct sales industry, bookings are what make you money and keep you going. If you’re not able to get people to book off your party, you’re not going to make money. This is how you make direct sales. Most of the party bookings are done at the presentation. The bookings don’t just happen by themselves. In fact, most guests come there with the intention of NOT being persuaded to host a party or buy anything. It’s up to you as the one doing the presentation to make your product look as interesting as possible if you want a successful home based business. This should be a part of your ongoing professional and personal development plan.

If you’re doing a presentation at a party, you don’t want to wait until the end of the party to start looking for people to book parties. They aren’t going to come up to you on their own and volunteer. From the time the party presentation begins, you need to get your guests interested in the products. As you’re displaying the products, show the guests the positive qualities and how they can earn them free or at a huge discount if they book a party.

Make sure that your party and presentation are fun and interesting. People should not come to your party for the free food or to socialize with their friends. Although they will enjoy those things, they should be interested in what you’re selling and want to learn more. It’s up to you to make them interested. During the actual presentations, bring up hosting a party at least three times. Use products they particularly like as an example of what they’ll get for hosting a party. You may also want to offer a special item free as an incentive for hosting a party. It doesn’t have to be an expensive item, just something free for them. Everyone enjoys free things and you’ll get your money back when they book a party.

Offering the hostess an incentive gift often works towards getting her to book parties as well. She may have friends that will do this for her and get the products and incentives for themselves. Even if you don’t have any scheduled party presentations coming up, don’t let on. Let the guests feel that you are busy doing many presentations because your product is so popular. If you do more than one type of party, make sure they’re made aware of this, too.

There are many types of incentives you can offer the guests to get them to book a party. If there’s an expensive item they all are talking about, you may want to offer it to the first person that agrees to book. Another idea that often works is to offer a "show in a bag". This is special where you bring the dessert and paper products and they provide the guests. There are many ways to interest your guests in booking a party from your presentation. Start by giving a great presentation.
