The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity. Without it, no real success is possible, …..." Dwight D. Eisenhower

I’ve been surprised, honestly, to find integrity and honesty online…. I didn’t think it would be like that. I expected to find con artists… scam artists and crooks. I think a lot of people still think that way.

Fear is a real emotion, but if you think this way about the internet, get online – do some googling… and get over it. You will thank yourself!

It ain't what you don't know that gets you into trouble. It's what you know for sure that just ain't so.Mark Twain

I believe in my heart that ethics is the foundation of our character. It’s the foundation of how we connect and make almost any transaction… it’s how we buy things from people isn’t it? It’s connected to our natural intuition.

If you’ve never read the book, "Blink", it’s about how powerful our intuition is and why we should pay more attention to it.

Have you ever bought a car? You park on the street and walk up and see the salesmen coming toward you… ‘good grief, here he comes already… I just want to look"… but who did you buy the car from? why? You bought the car from the person you "connected" with .. the one who made you feel comfortable and special. This is what social networking is! People all over the planet are alike in so many ways. We all want to be loved and appreciated.

Ethics is nothing else than reverence for life. Albert Schweitzer

Good, honorable reputations rise to the top, but you must manage your reputation. You will want to monitor and track what people say about you and your business online, and respond with them in these conversations. It’s easy to become defensive and write something you’ll regret later, but always keep your integrity intact and it will come back to you tenfold.

Do the right thing. It will gratify some people and astonish the rest. Mark Twain

Some companies and individuals try to minimize damage to their reputations when a customer blasts them on a forum or leaves a negative comment about them on a blog, social network, or review site.

People who fly into a rage always make a bad landing. Will Rogers

I think we should have an Internet Honor Code, just like the Boy Scouts:

On my honor I will do my best To do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Internet Laws of Integrity and Honesty; To help other people at all times; To present myself to others respectfully.

If the "God" word offended you, remove it and write your own and re-read it. My point is that we all want people to be honest and real.

I am proud to be involved in internet marketing and pleasantly surprised at the "real", "honorablel", "brilliant" people I have found on the net.

These are real communities that involve relationships and reciprocity, where we swap and share information and ideas free from the risk of censorship. For now, we don’t have the government or a board setting up rules and fines.
