There are two main types of optimization for your blogs. One is on page optimization and the other is off page optimization. On page optimization refers to the things you can tweak on your blog for the purposes of optimization.

Off page optimization refers to all aspects of seo that are not actually on your site. For instance, off page optimization can be link building.

In this article I would like to focus on on page optimization. This is simple stuff mostly but important none-the-less. Keep in mind thought that on page optimization is not critical in achieving a number one ranking in the serps.

It is actually the off page optimization that matters most and indeed is the critical factor in how your site will rank. However, as I already said, on page optimization is still important so let's learn a little bit about it.

1. Title tags are probably the most important aspect of on page optimization. Your title tags are what show up in th search results and they also tell Google what your site is about. Google like title tags. You just need to make sure that you include your keyword in the title tag.

That's it, nothing fancy. But do most bloggers do this? No. Why? Because most bloggers are clueless I think! You should always, always, always include your keyword in the title tag for each post you make.

2. Bold and Italics are important too. You simply want to make sure you bold your keywords as they appear in your post. Don't over do it as it will look spammy. Just bold a few here and there. Italics work too. See, Google looks for bold and italicized words as it scans your content.

This helps tell Google what your site is about, just like the title tags. It's just that Google gives more weight to the title tags, but the bold tag is powerful too.

3. h1 tags are another way to help Google figure out what the content on your site is about. An h1 tag creates a sub heading in your content. This is much larger than just normal bold. You can use these tags to separate your content in to sections. Again, Google sees the sub headings in it's initial scan of your site.

The bot scans your site kind of like a human would. It first looks from the top left on down. It notices the title and large writing as well as bold lettering and links. Just like we do.

4. Keyword stuffing is another nice way to optimize your blog. This is when you use your keyword repeatedly throughout your content. Some say that you shouldn't keyword stuff because your readers wont like it. I don't care if I have readers with the business model I use so big deal.

However, you must use some caution when keyword stuffing. If you stuff too much then you might get penalized. This could mean that your page suddenly doesn't rank at all for your keywords. Avoid this by keeping your keyword density around 5.

These are four of the most important on page seo factors that you can quickly and easily implement right away if you haven't already done so. It's easy and effective but not critical. Remember, it is off page optimization that makes your site a winner or loser.
