Now the question may arise that what actually is the purpose of the debt management plans or services? These services or plans are usually provided by the registered lenders or financial authorities. The purpose of these services is to serve those people who are under heavy burden of unpaid debts and loans. The reasons for this situation can be any thing from the increasing rate of interest to personal problems( like shortage of money ). This situation generally occurs when the borrower or the person in question avails loan but after that slowly it becomes impossible for him to repay the debts or loan back. Thus these services prevent the borrowers from suffering financial distress. Under these services any person suffering from these problems can walk up to the authorities who are providing or specializing in solving the problems relate to debts and unpaid loans.

The concerned authority's experts will provide the person with adequate consultation regarding the problem. They will sort out his problem in a very systematic manner for the borrower. Not only that they will offer him with different solutions for debt related problems, e.g., availing debt consolidation loans. This loan is a loan availed for paying off all the outstanding loans or debts. In other words, it is a loan availed to repay back other loans. The advantage of availing this loan is that the borrower repays back his older outstanding loans whose interest has been accruing for so long. This loan also prevents the borrower from repaying the loan at higher rate of interest. Also it helps the borrower in answering or convincing multiple creditors at same time.

After availing debt consolidation loans, the borrower will have only one creditor to answer and that too at comparatively lower rate of interest. Another way by which these consultancy services help the borrower is by negotiating with the lender at a personal level on behalf of the borrower. It happens when the borrower is asked by the consultants of these debt management services to negotiate with their respective lenders at personal level. The borrower goes and negotiates with the money lender and requests him to lower or settle the entire loan repayment at a comparatively lower rate. If the lender agrees, then it is well and good and if not then at that point of juncture, the debt management authority steps forward and negotiates with lenders, and most of the time the outcome is positive.

Many lenders argue that the sole aim of providing these debt management services by various financial authorities is to lower the importance of debt consolidation loans. But that is not actually the case, in fact the only purpose of providing these debt management plans or services, is to prevent the borrower from suffering from any distress or losing his peace of mind. These debt management plans are the most easy, systematic and effective way of getting rid of the pile of debts and outstanding loans.

Hence it is advised to every person, who is suffering from any kind of financial distress or is losing his sleep over long time debts or loans, debt management plans are an easy solution to all problems like these.
