It is in the nature of men and women to want to look good. It is the urge of saying to themselves that they are presentable enough to be around with other people. Looking good outside will definitely make an impression on people around them, a situation that would also make them feel good inside. Every one knows that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and yet some just don't see the beauty that they possess.

Today, there are a lot of beauty products available for both men and women. These products cater to the millions of people who are not contented with being "all natural" in terms of their appearance. For most people, these products are necessary add-ons or enhancements. This is quite normal since we really need to take care of ourselves physically to make ourselves socially acceptable if not pleasing to the public eye. Beauty products can range from skin creams to eye creams, those that moisturize, lessen wrinkles, and so on. In spite of all these, many still look for the all natural beauty products, simply because it is much safer, and manufactured by nature, which is quite fascinating when one thinks about it.

An interesting take on natural beauty products involves seeing the natural benefits and healing properties of sea water and seaweeds (limu). To this day, many of the ancient remedies made from seaweeds are still used by locals of Polynesia. Polynesians make poultices from fresh seaweeds, detoxifying seaweed baths, and use the dry seaweeds for internal and external healing treatments.

The use of sea water and aquatic plants in promoting health and beauty is also known as Thalassotherapy. The theory is that the chemical composition of sea water is almost identical to human plasma and contains all the elements necessary for optimum cellular function. Seaweeds have a rich abundance of all the building blocks of life: minerals, trace elements, amino acids, vitamins and a host of other nutrients. Thalassotherapy has found a home in spas and seaside retreats around the world. Thasso-treatments depends from region to region, depending on the nature of the sea water, seaweeds and sea minerals. Often, seaweeds and sea salt are combined with other natural healing ingredients in order to rejuvenate the skin and stimulate the internal balance of the body.

Seaweeds has a wonderful softening, re-mineralizing, moisturizing and firming effect on the skin. Applications of seaweeds help detoxify the tissues and regulate blood circulation throughout the body. The high iodine content in seaweeds stimulate the thyroid gland and increases metabolism. Seaweeds provide three essential skin health needs namely: elimination of free radicals; improvement of skin color and tone; and the slowing down or reduction of the skin aging process.

Herbs and fruits are also traditionally used as natural beauty products in Hawaiian cosmetic and medicinal preparations. Two of the most popular plant oils are from the Kukui Nut and the Macadamia Nut. Body care product manufacturers have only recently discovered what Hawaiians have already known centuries, that many of the best natural beauty products can be found in nature's bosom.
