Couriers could be considered among the top important elements of a successful business. A professional courier service provider makes it a point, to deliver all our business documents and paperwork at the right time and place. However in recent times humans and aircrafts have replaced birds and animals as messengers for e.g. previously pigeons were used to deliver all important messages. However all reputed courier companies own their aircrafts to deliver all letters and documents instantly within a day or two.
There are many several kinds of couriers like representative couriers and same day couriers, who deliver all packages on the very same day. No doubt these types of couriers come in handy for all top ranking companies. Among the most prominent and popular courier companies are DHL, FedEx etc. Besides road courier services or land courier service, other modes of services are international courier service, air courier services and shipping services.
Different couriers provide different services, and have different working terms and conditions. Now these would vary in every country. The terms of contract are always decided between the consumer and the service provider.
Besides the regular customized courier services, there are other services that are provided too. One of them is the inter office delivery of packages, where the courier would pick up and deliver the package from one office to the other. Set runs is another type of service provided by the courier where they operate one point to another point and so on.
Courier insurance is very similar as that of ordinary automobile insurance, since it's specially designed to cover couriers during transit, from accidents due to crash or fire explosion. Since courier always carries other people goods, courier insurance helps to cover up all the loss and damage that may have taken due to such accidents. Except some stipulated articles or things, mentioned in the invoice or the courier receipt. Courier insurance can be taken on any vehicle and not restricted vehicle of specific make or model.
Since couriers are liable for the responsibility of third parties, many insurance companies hesitate to provide courier insurance or may accept very high premiums from courier companies. However there are many benefits of courier insurance also like if we lease the company van or vehicle then we got to pay just one party.
There are some chances of availing some discounts also, since the insurance company would be having a good rapport with the courier company. This would provide beneficial against the rising costs of the insurance every year.
Another benefit of courier insurance is that, it would help us make the payment as per our terms and conditions. Paying the insurance company even after some time would be in our interest during times of recession and financial crunch.
