The other day I was going through some old videos I had shot over the years looking for anything I could use in my Internet marketing campaigns for my home based Internet businesses. As I was watching footage from Christmas 2004, the birth of both my daughters, birthday parties, and everything else I had filmed, my oldest daughter, only two, comes in and hops on my lap. She was intrigued watching our dog run in the snow, watching the nurses clean her up after she was born, and all the various things that scrolled across the screen.

Then, she said something to me that made me stop what I was doing.

"Daddy, you watch TV with me?"

The decision was a "no brainer". I stopped working on my home based Internet businesses, walked into the living room with her, sat down, and we began watching her favorite shows.

Regardless of how much I want to work as much as possible, one thing I have to remind myself is why I work my home based Internet businesses: To free up as much time for my family. Although I know that the success enjoyed with home businesses is the freedom to spend more time with my family, I also know that, with two young girls, I need to be spending time with them now, no t just planning to spend time with them in the future.

Sometimes it is important to take a break from our home based Internet businesses and enjoy life, spend the time with family, get outside, exercise, and have a good time. You should be having fun in your businesses and your life outside of your home based Internet businesses. If you are not, you are wasting precious time that you will never regain.

Breaks are important, but it is also important to manage the breaks you do take. The afternoon my daughter asked me to watch TV with her, I allowed myself to spend that time with her but I also returned to my work not too long after that. My wife is understanding and helped keep my daughter occupied so I could return to searching for footage for videos for my home based Internet businesses.

Doing this, I managed to accomplish my work for the afternoon and not shun the attention my daughter wanted. I successfully took a break from working on my home based Internet businesses and finished the work I had determined to do.

Taking breaks from your home based Internet businesses will help you maintain a balance in life. If you keep focused on what is important in life and manage the time with your businesses, you will find yourself more productive and happier about your work.
