As a European export consultant, I have to visit the city Rome regularly, quite often twice a month or even more, for several days each time I visit. The problem is, I enjoy my home life, and I miss having my own space and privacy when I am forced to stay in a hotel for several days at a time. Because of this, I started to investigate alternative types of accommodation, and discovered the joys of a short term rental of a Rome apartment. Now, instead of staying in an impersonal, sterile hotel, I rent an apartment in Rome for a few days each time I visit, there are no booking conditions which state a minimum stay and I often book for just two or three days. The nightly rate is also very reasonable, especially when you consider the added level of comfort that is supplied by staying in your very own home away from home.

An added bonus has been the increase in my work productivity level, I have found that by having my own Rome apartment, which I can use as a base whilst working in this charming city, that I am far more comfortable when working at home in the evening. Previously I would feel trapped within the four walls of my room in a hotel, which compelled me to spend more time outside and less time in my room working in the evening. By renting my own apartment in Rome, I am able to relax as I feel much more comfortable in the extra space, if I am hungry I can make a snack in my own kitchen, previously I would have had to visit the hotel restaurant, and disrupted my work for a longer period. If I need a break, I can kick back with my feet up on my own couch and read a magazine for a while, instead of having to sit in a small hotel room. Overall, it is a much more homely kind of atmosphere than other forms of accommodation.
