Many new affiliate marketers choose an affiliate network based on the recommendation of other affiliate marketers who may have found success promoting a certain product offered by that affiliate network. One thing you should keep in mind, however, is that not everyone will be successful doing the same things. It's entirely possible that you can promote products in a similar way to someone else, yet not see nearly the conversion rates.

Here are a few factors to consider when you're attempting to determine if your affiliate network is right for you:

1. Affiliate managers. Many affiliate networks will have affiliate managers working there. Ostensibly, their job is to help you be a better marketer. But the dark secret that most affiliate networks don't want to reveal is that their affiliate managers don't really understand the marketing game. If they did, wouldn't they be in the affiliate game - a much more profitable endeavor than customer support?

2. Poor support? Many affiliate networks simply do not have a working support structure in place to help the majority of their affiliates be successful. The onus is on you, the affiliate to work through problems and learn the ropes. Most affiliate networks do not provide any training whatsoever, and of those that do, it's usually marginal at best.

3. Focus on success. Wouldn't it be nice if there was an affiliate network out there that helps you be successful? Many times, the best an average affiliate network can do is send a form email out to their affiliates. If you find an affiliate network that offers offers you training and resources you need to actually make money online, hang on to them.

It's not out of the question to find affiliate networks that offer such benefits, but they're few and far between. Good ones will show you how to drive traffic to your websites, how to create websites that convert visitors into buyers, and will allow you to earn passive income with as little as 30 minutes invested per day. Good hunting!
