Social Media "Is It Good For Your Business?"

Are you into web 2.0? Do you even know what the hype is all about? Well it is worth looking into. It is a great way to reach out to millions of people in your market. It can save you money. Not to mention it can also be a lot of fun.

The internet is all about information. The more information you supply it the more credibility you gain with the search engines. However, as a marketer you want to establish credibility with your perspective customers. And in my humble opinion there is no better way to do that than with social media. You are looking to gain trust and respect. Social media adds that personal touch that you might otherwise miss out on in network marketing.

So letīs look at some of the social networks out there available.

1. Facebook: Great! The only down fall perhaps is that you must decide between what is too personal to reveal and what is strictly business related. Do you really want people to know that you are single and what gender you are, etc. While you want to be be open with your audience it is not important that they get to know every aspect of your personal life. 2. Twitter: Also good. But you really should be careful with this one. You see when you sign up with this one it notifies your customers every time you have some new information to share. And it does this as often as you like. That can be once every hour or once every day. One thing is certain that whatever information you offer you want to be sure that it is relevant not just something to fill up their mailboxes. That will be a definite turn off and people will start ignoring your messages. At the end of the day you want to market your product and that will never happen if people delete your message before they even open it.

3. MySpace: The thing to remember about myspace is who your audience is. As in all marketing it is extremely important to focus in on your target market. Myspace generally has a younger crowd with not so deep pockets. Obviously, you do not want to market anything that might be too pricey. Or for that matter would not interest them in the least, such as anti-aging cream. No save that for customers on Facebook who tend to be older and have more income. Market video game or music to this younger audience.

In the end you will learn how to market your products, overcome your fears of communication, and if you are not careful you just might have a little fun doing it.
