Imagine yourself one year from today. Go ahead. If you don't know that date, check it right now. Project yourself one year from now. In fact, if you're on your computer, go to the calendar in the left hand corner of your monitor screen and double click it. Scroll the year to next year. Check it what day of the week it will be one year from now.

Now, imagine what you'll be doing. Where will you be living? What will you be doing at this very time of the day? Who will you be doing it with? Perhaps you'll be playing golf. Perhaps you'll be hiking your favorite trail. Maybe you'll be out by a gorgeous swimming pool. You might be in a cooler or warmer climate. Can you see yourself in your favorite vacation spot? Perhaps in Europe, the Caribbean or some South Pacific island. Could your even be on a humanitarian trip to South America or Africa?

Engage in this article by imagining that you are exactly in your most ideal surrounds, feeling absolutely amazing about your life. Go ahead. Let yourself feel it now. You can do it if you try. Who is in your life? Maybe someone you've not met but you've envisioned in your heart and mind. It might be the most amazing mate that you've long to connect with and finally did.

The great Charlie 'Tremendous' Jones said, ''Where you'll be five years from now will be determined by the books that you read and the people that you associate with."

I'm going to give you a bit of a shorter shot into your future and why you'll be there. Ready?

"Where you'll be one year from now will be determined by the talk you create or allow in your mind and the vision that you focus on."

I was reading an amazing book recently that the author asked, "If made the affirmation, 'I am a millionaire', one hundred times a day and KNEW that it would prove true ONE YEAR from now, would you start making that affirmation? Perhaps you've not discovered for yourself the power of affirmations. Maybe you don't believe in them yet.

Every 'effect' in life has a 'cause.' Where you'll be a year from now, what you'll be doing and who you'll be doing it with is an 'effect.' It is a result. An outcome.

What you choose to focus on and the language you allow to go on inside of your head every waking minute, is a cause. It is a very simple equation. The cause creates the effect. It is happening all around you, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year. You can't stop it. And even if you did stop it, the outcome would be the effect.

What you say to yourself is a cause that creates an effect. It is a verbalized thought that creates an emotion or feeling. That feeling will determine how you act.

Have you ever seen a man who knew that his grass was getting high, sit back and say, "I don't FEEL like going out in the hot sun and mowing the lawn?" He's either too tired. Not feeling well in his body or just, too lazy. The truth is, he told himself before he said it aloud, 'I don't think I'll go out and mow the grass today.' You see, his self talk didn't start when his wife asked him 'when' he was going to get his backside out there and mow the grass. It didn't happen when he answered. It was reinforced by his answer, but it was likely answered before then.

O.k. Let's get out of the yard and back into being a millionaire.

In Dr. Joseph Murphy's book, 'The Power Of The Subconscious Mind', he said, "Your words ignite either action or inaction." Your thoughts are carried on in language with yourself. Your thoughts are made up of words. If you can't or won't believe that you can be a millionaire a year from now, then, I can make a promise to you. You won't. However, if you do begin to engage yourself in the daily habit of saying to yourself that you are a millionaire, then you have a shot at it.

I challenged Bob with this particular affirmation challenge at an event that I was speaking at a few years ago. He said, ''O.k. Michael. Nothing else has worked for me. I'm going to commit myself to doing it. Everyday. 100 times per day. 'I am a millionaire.' I'm going to tell you that it didn't work for him. He fell short of his million dollars.

Bob started talking to himself aloud in his car. He continually made the affirmation, "I am a millionaire." He did it faithfully and sometimes even 200 times a day.

Not long after Bob started doing this exercise, his boss came in and sat down. He told Bob that the company was cutting back and that his job was going to be done away with. Bob got fired. However, the company did owe him for some retirement and back pay which amounted to about 6 months pay for Bob.

The first month, Bob did nothing. He kicked back and enjoyed his little temporary retirement. The second month, Bob started focusing on what he really wanted to do with his life. Each day, Bob continued his affirmation exercise, 'I am a millionaire.'

One Sunday at church, Bob's Sunday school teacher told him that he had heard that he had gotten laid off and wanted to know what his plans were. Bob told him that he had a few ideas but nothing solid. Plus, he had 4 months to make up his mind. The teacher suggested that Bob looking into a network marketing company he'd just connected with. Bob told him that he really wasn't all that keen on such an opportunity but decided he'd look at as a courtesy to his Sunday school teacher.

Bob looked at the opportunity and decided to join the company. Bob soon feel in love with the company and their products and started adding people into his down line. In 6 months time, Bob had added over 900 people to his organization, all the while still making his daily affirmations.

In Bob's first year after being laid off, he earned $632,342. You see Bob feel far short of his goal. His daily affirmation didn't make him a millionaire. However, it did make him over $500,000 more than he had ever made any year of his life.

Now, let me ask you a question. What if the story I told you isn't at all true? What if I or someone else, completely made it up? Then, on the other hand, what if it is true and what if the only thing that is standing in your way from living your dreams is a simple affirmation exercise that can be completed in under 10 minutes a day?

What do you have to lose? What if this article is YOUR wakeup call to achieving your dreams and living the life you've always imagined? The question is, what are you going to do with this knowledge?
