Collars are one of the essential and popular dog accessories that you can get for your dog. Collars have given the owners the convenience of walking their dog without the fear of their dog running away to chase something that triggers his/her curious mind. Compared to nylon dog collar, a leather collar offers more durability especially if you own a large dogs. It may cost more than nylon and other materials. It can give a classy look that it is very comfortable for your dog since leather is soften by the oils on the skin of the dog. In selecting a leather collar for your dog, you must take into considerations the size of your dog. Do not purchase a collar that is so wide for your small dogs and thin ones for your large dog.

Leather dog collars are durable and strong which is important especially for dogs that always play around and will eventually cause the collar to wear down with time. It also comes in different sizes that are suitable to the size of your dog.

Comfort is the main factor in selecting a leather collar especially when you use it for training your dog because if your dog is not comfortable with it, most likely he/she will not respond to the training. One must choose a collar that is not too wide that may impede the mobility of dog and not too thin that may cut into their skin. Measure around the neck of your pet so that you will have an idea how much length of the collar does your dog needs and will fit them comfortable and securely.
