HOW TO USE PLAYLISTS FOR MORE FUN

Most of us listen songs one by one by hitting "next " while others group all the favorite songs together and possess a lengthy list of songs.

You might be comfortable the above options if you are not a regular or an avid listener. But if you are a music freak and want your daily dose of music with variety, you might find these options to be very cumbersome.

Songs should be all different with different themes and representing different contexts. This is the only way to combat boredom. Storing such a vast variety would lead to a huge list of songs and you may not want to listen to every song at a time.

So, the solution is to create playlists, that is, to group 20-40 songs or more together to make one playlist. Each playlist is created depending on a particular theme or on any other basis. Make different playlists. Now you do not have to play an entire mp3 and you just have to choose a specific section(playlist) matching your mood. This way you will have more fun and you won’t have to skip songs.

One thing I would like to point out is that too many playlists can be as unmanageable and messy as songs without playlists. So, aim for six to twelve playlists. Do not hesitate to delete the ones which you don’t use anymore.

Here are some of the Playlist ideas:

MAKE A PLAYLIST WITH A THEME :

Mothers’ Songs
Family Unity Songs
Parents’, grandparents’, sisters’ and brothers’ songs
Rainy Day Songs
Merriment songs
Sad songs
Cheating Songs
Love Songs
Funny songs
Kids’ songs
Gangster songs
Moral Songs
Lesson Songs

MAKE A PLAYLIST FOR A PURPOSE:

Music for Dancing
Music for Relaxation and Meditation
Music for Parties
Music to Put Me to Sleep
Music to enjoy Driving
Music for relishing old memories
Music for Religious Ceremonies
Music for Exercising
Campfire Songs

ALTERNATE BETWEEN 2 PLAYLISTS :

My Sister’s Favorite Tunes - My Kids' Favorite Tunes
My fav. songs which my husband likes – My fav. tunes which my husband don’t like
Slow Tunes - Fast Tunes
Songs I Sing Well - Songs I can’t Sing Well
New songs - Old songs
Frequently listened songs – Rarely listened songs
Loud Songs - Quiet Songs
Fast songs- Slow songs
Alternate Between Two Genres: Examples:
   Rock – Pop
   Rock - Jazz
   Heavy metal - Latin
   Country – Opera
   Rap – Hiphop
   Pop - Classical

MAKE A PLAYLIST ACCORDING TO "BEATS PER MINUTE" :

One of the features common in iTunes4 is "beats per minute" (BPM) though has not yet come with many others. This ‘Beats Per Minute’ allows you to make interesting playlists such as the following :
A playlist of songs whose speed matches or suits your speed of walking.
A playlist of songs whose speed matches or suits your speed of exercising.
And there are many more examples. Just google for the term "beats per minute" and you will find all information about BPM.
