Pda phones, also known as pandas, are cellular phones with pda technology.  The pda phone technology can include data transferring such as wireless e-mail and usb data transfer, internet capabilities, a keypad or touchscreen, Palm organizing functionality, and of course, cellular phone technology.  Pda phones come in different shapes and sizes, but are all about the size of a modern, pocket sized cellular phone.  Most can be fitted with a custom or over the counter faceplate to make the phone unique.

Newer pda phones on the market come with HSDPA (high speed data packet access).  Pda phones with HSDPA support high speed internet and downloads.  These pda phones are quite functional for use in transferring files or photographs, downloading movies or music, or using the pda phone as a gps device.

The prices of pda phones can vary greatly depending on the functions they offer.  Before shopping for phones decide what capabilities you want and then compare phones with those options.  Don’t pay for options you aren’t going to use.  You should also compare the price plans and make sure that the ones you are interested in offer a reasonable plan in comparison.

Once you choose a new pda phone, you may want to buy some accessories for it.  Accessories that you can add include Bluetooth headsets.  Headsets are required in some states for cell phone use while driving.  You can get pulled over and ticketed if caught on your phone without one.  Cases are an important accessory for your pda phone because a case can protect this fragile piece of equipment from falls or protect your number 5 speed dial from listening to your conversations while your phone is still in your pocket.  Other cool accessories are universal keyboards, car mounts, and gps additions.  You will of course want an extra stylus or two, extra memory card, and a screen protector.

Pda phones can be expensive but don’t cut corners by purchasing one from a guy at a gas station who has a bunch of them in the back of his car.  You won’t likely be able to activate them.
