Roulette is a fun and furious game that is played in casinos around the world. You don't need much skill, just a number and a dream as they say in the lottery. There are many ways of betting on this game of chance that will increase your chances of winning.

The Basics

There is a wheel in which there are numbers from zero to thirty six. Some wheels have a double zero and the numbers only go up to 35. American and European roulette differ so it depends upon where you are playing to understand the rules of the game.

There are two colors on the wheel, red and black. You can bet on what color number will come up as well as individual numbers. There are many ways you can make a bet and most tables will have a minimum and maximum bet limit. In a real casino the live roulette wheel usually spins in a clockwise direction and the numbers on every wheel are placed in the same order.

Betting on the Roulette Wheel

A bet on a single number is a 35 to 1 payoff if your number hits. There are ways to bet on 2 numbers, 4 numbers, a line of numbers as well as Odd or Even, Red or Black and of course the zeros. Each live roulette bet has its own payoff. The more numbers your chip is betting on the less the payoff is when you win. There are both "outside" and "inside" bets. The best way to learn to play is to watch the game in action. After you watch a few rounds you will get a clear idea of how the others are betting and be able to place your own bets.

How to Know When You can No Longer Bet

The dealer will take the little white ball and toss it into the spinning wheel. Once the dealer tells the players, "No more bets" you can no longer place your chips on the table. Each player has chips of a particular color so there is never any confusion about who has won what. Once the ball has stopped spinning, the dealer places a crystal icon that often looks like an hourglass on the winning number and begins to pay off those that have won.

Live Roulette is an exciting game that is purely luck and chance. You don't have to have any special skills as you do in Blackjack or Poker. The camaraderie around the table is often festive and everyone seems to be rooting for each other. You can win big if your numbers come out on top and you are placing your bets strategically. It is fun for beginning gamblers and it is simple game to learn.

Before you make any roulette bets read about live roulette because the fun of playing in a real casino is never as far away as you think.
