Having an MLM business plan is a key to success. Having the right plan will open all the right doors.
A lot of sincere, earnest people get into network marketing with the plan of learning everything they possibly can about their company's products or service. They dedicate themselves to becoming an expert. Problem is, that is a total waste of time.
If you were going to sell a product, it might make some sense. But this business is about building relationships rather than selling product ... because you are not a salesperson. If you have to convince people to buy your product, then you are dead before you start. And even if you can do it, you won't be able to train anyone else to sell a product. Selling just is not duplicatable.
Instead, what you must do is become an expert on people, because in network marketing, people are your REAL product. Your real goal is to help people achieve their dreams in life. And that means you must understand them. You must build trust with them. Build the relationship. That is job #1.
Devote your time to getting good at relationship-building skills. Train yourself to be a great listener, so you understand exactly what the people you talk to want. Focus on helping them get it. To reach their dreams, they'll buy your products ... if YOU have built that relationship with them.
MLM success requires a long-term commitment. Plenty of people just figure, "I'll try this for awhile."
Chances of that working for them aren't very good. First, it's a real key to focus on the idea of building relationships and to realize that relationships take a "forever" commitment. Nobody says they'll try marriage for 3 months and see if it works. You can make a good, stable income in MLM, when you use a system that works, and when you have chosen a good company.
So let's assume you've got that part. The next crucial element is to continually tighten the grip on your own commitment. List every step of your plan. Use a weekly calendar to schedule the time each day you'll be doing these tasks. Where will you be? Who can you get ahold of to quickly answer questions? You want quick access to a successful system-user who is getting good results with it right now.
It's important that you quickly see for yourself by your own experience that your system works, or you'll find excuses not to do any work. Most of these business tasks, you realistically cannot do them while you are babysitting. That doesn't give you an actual opportunity for success. If you're calling leads, you've got to set aside time that you can give prospects your undivided attention.
The MLM ebook "Success In 10 Steps" by Michael Dlouhy has been on the market several years now. The ideas above, and many others, come from this book.
For example, so many people get into network marketing and dedicate themselves to becoming experts on their company's products. Plenty of dumb companies encourage this with "product education" training. But the fact is, that education is not going to help you build your business at all.
Network marketing is a business that requires you to build relationships with people. It's a much better choice to spend your time learning about people and how to connect with them emotionally.
If you learn about product, then you will have to become a salesperson to convince someone your product is better than others. But if you learn the keys to building trust with people, they will join you because they trust you. You get a step-by-step plan on how to do just that in the book.
