The most typical of decisions when you learn to play poker is to learn how to play the pot limits and you need to learn the maximum limit of pots that you will be playing for a few days until you get used to the playing and get comfortable with the variant or the poker room. As you learn to play poker you should concentrate a great deal in money management. You should decide on the higher average pot that you will be playing at any point in time and the maximum amount you should actually be prepared to loose beyond which you should just be folding.

When you learn to play poker you should learn about when it is risky to call and when it is risky to raise. You need to learn which kind of hands makes the nut in a particular position. While one does learn to play poker they will have to play tight and conservative by taking just low risks; however, with practice you will come to realize that tight and conservative methods are okay approaches for low limits, but they are not fit for high limits.

The number of hands that one should play per hour or in other words one should make a personal research on the number of hands they will be capable of handling in an hour with making sensible decisions on almost all plays. When one does learn to play poker they might not be able to judge it right. They might think that they can play about 20 hands on an hour when it comes to practical play they might not be able to decide on even just 5 hands.

Though this might be difficult in stages immediate after learning one will truly be able to increase the number of hands with practice; however, when one is in the learn to play poker they should realize playing maximum number of hands is not the key to winning. One will have to wait to play the playable hand. There is no point in playing all hands that one is being dealt with rather they will do best if they are going to be choosy about their playing decisions.

Well immediately after you learn to play poker with some rules and basics just jump to play, because experience can teach you better lessons than reading pages of books.
