When you travel not only do step out of your comfort zone, but you also leave behind all the important information about your life. You know about the stuff you’d need –like, insurance numbers - in case of an emergency; the number to call in case you lose your credit card, prescription information, etc.

When we are home, all this information is easily available to us; but what would you do if your house sitter contacted you when you were halfway around the world to tell you that your house had caught fire? Would you be able contact your homeowner’s insurance agent right away and provide the information he would need, no matter where you yourself may be?

Whenever you leave your hotel room, ensure that this folder is placed in your room safe, and that every one who would need this information knows the combination to operate the safe. You can also include information concerning any medical conditions or allergies you may have, and things like blood type each member of your party.

With the help of a checklist, compile all the information you could need, while away from home, so that you can carry it in a portable file. It could also provide you some peace of mind and solace.
