If you are looking to purchase new fencing shoes there are a couple things to consider. First, you need to look at the best quality for what you can spend. Second, you need to look for the shoe that best meets your needs. Because all feet are not the same, a shoe that another fencer loves might not feel good on your feet. Make sure they are comfortable and durable.

Footwear used in this activity has some very specific qualities. Most importantly look underneath and take note of the bottom of the item. It should be made of a quality rubber. This will reduce the likelihood of slippage. Additionally, better made items are designed with a special inner lining. Not only does this help to make the shoe last longer, it helps keep you balanced and ready for the next move.

Fencing shoes are available as both high top and low top, with the choice between the two coming mostly as personal choice. Many fencers prefer the support in the ankles that high top shoes give, but others prefer the freedom of the low top version.

There are two differing opinions about what kind of shoes are best when fencing. Some experts believe that a lightweight shoe give you more freedom in you movements. While others believe that a heavy shoe will help to build your muscles. Some fencers switch from a heavier shoe while training to a lightweight shoe for matches.

If you look around, you can find shops that carry fencing shoes for as little as $60 to $80. However, for the best and most well made shoes, you'll need to find a specialty fencing store. Good quality shoes run about $200. Some general sporting goods retailers stock a small amount of fencing accessories, but you can find the widest selection on the web.

Most of the times, fencers are found opting for boxing shoes instead of fencing shoes. They make only small adjustments in order to provide the same qualities of fencing shoes. Boxing shoes are comparatively lighter and less expensive than fencing shoes. A gel is applied on the insole with an aim to reduce impacts of feet and joints. This also helps heal cups and shin splints if developed.
