I am hoping that my story will keep some other "laid off" person ENCOURAGED. Although it took 2 years to find another job after being "laid off" - I never stopped looking. My secret: (1) Look around you to see what is needed (2) Evaluate your skills to see if you can fill the need or obtain the necessary skills (3) Approach the organization or person you want to work for (4) Offer to work for "free" so that they can "evaluate" your skills (4) And keep looking - always have a plan just in case you get "laid off" again :).
Please share the "link" below with anyone who may be going through what I went through for two years. Sometimes WESH Channel 2 has an "advertisement" on before the story - so please be patient for a few moments! :)

***I am from Phenix City, Alabama but due to NOT being able to find a job there, I had to take this TEMPORARY job in Orlando, Florida. I am very "homesick" and hope to be able to return home to a job SOON :)***November 08, 2010 13:53:41 |
