Why A Home Business? What About The Scams? How About The Internet?
Working from home is a dream for many of us. Unrealised by most. What makes so many people want to do this? Are we thinking straight?
The number one reason that people go into a home based business is that they've thought of a great business idea. You've sensibly had a further think about it; done some research on and off the internet, and now you've decided that this is something you really can do. But we're not thinking of renting business premises at this stage! And if this business idea is one that you can work on from home, this is the ideal situation.
But think! Is your idea one that will not take a long time to get up and running, and bringing in an income? Even the best ideas take darned hard work to turn into reality. Sitting at home for a year, working on something that's not producing a return, could have serious consequences for you in lots of ways.
You don't have that great business idea as yet? How about making your hobby into a job? Do you have something you're really passionate about? Is there something that you would spend the rest of your life doing, just for the pure enjoyment? How appealing is getting paid for doing something that you love? Even if you just make enough to get by comfortably, this could be your idea of paradise.
Make sure, though, that you’d be able to take it if you had to make a living from your passion. It’s the things we’re closest to that hurt us the most – think of how you might feel if no-one buys what you’ve made, or if they send it back and with a note saying "what rubbish, I demand a refund!" Could you cope?
Are you tired of your Boss? Confidentially... you're rare if you're not! Have you got a boss that tries to pretend like they’re your friend? But who are they fooling? Have you been forced to work to pointless deadlines and targets? Anytime you spot a better way of doing something you’re told that it’s impractical! Or even worse, that it’s a great idea, but the standard way of doing things is already ‘established’ and ‘policy’.
On the other hand... do you realize that ‘being your own boss’ requires heaps of willpower. If there was no-one to make you get up in the morning and work, would you? Your home is supposed to be a place of rest and entertainment – and when it’s full of the equipment and temptation to do anything but work, working there can be difficult.
