MLM does not need to be so frustrating.

I have been involved on and off with network marketing for the last 15 years.

I say on and off as I would join a great company, do all the normal things, build a list of my friends and family, then contact all my friends and family which would result in various forms of NO, ie not interested, its a scam, get a real job etc, this can be really disheartening to hear from your "warm market" as you generally respect the opinions of your family and friends and their NO's can have a big impact on your business.

The next option given to me by my upline sponsor was to speak to everyone within 3 feet, which frankly is even worse to do!

At the end of the day I was extremely disheartened, my credit card bills were huge and I had no income residual or otherwise to show for it.

Sound familiar, I think this is why 90% of Network marketers quit. It is so discouraging to have friends and family debunk you or running from you the second you appear to flog your new opportunity that you end up quitting.

BUT A MAN WITH A DREAM WILL NOT BE DENIED!

I have started and run several successful traditional businesses and made healthy profits but they all depended on me being present. If i was not there i failed to earn money which is why I firmly believe the MLM opportunity is an excellent way to make money and create a large income stream, but it is hard work.

After deciding to take up the MLM dream again I researched several viable companies i thought I could work with and finally selected what I thought was the best suited to my own personality.

I signed up, bought product and you know what my sponsor (who is quite successful) suggested. Write down a list of everyone you know or have ever met and start calling them to see if their interested in making extra money. This bought up all my old feelings of rejection and frustration i had with my previous company so i advised her I'm not comfortable calling my friends and family just yet.

Her answer was no problem so we went out prospecting and you guessed it the old "3 foot" rule, she would just go into a shop and start talking to people about what they do at work, then get their number and call back and offer them the opportunity of a lifetime. This may work for her and obviously has, however again this is not my my cup of tea.

This above scenario is probably how 90% of network marketers are taught to build their business. If they felt as uncomfortable as I did doing this kind of business building it's no wonder so many quit before they make it big.

It really hit home for me one Sunday when I went to a coffee shop to meet a prospect to get back my cds and follow up on how she was going when my prospect arrived 40 minutes late and was not interested. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME

There just had to be a better way.

After putting my traditional business knowledge to use I realized I needed my prospects to call me. In my traditional business when people call me I would get the job/make the sale, these people want what I am offering and are a much better lead for my business.
