PPC or Pay Per Click advertising is here to rule. In the last decade, internet has become an important part of today's world. Online marketing campaigns have become a common way to sell products and services. However, there are 4 secrets about PPC campaigns that this article will let you know.
1. No need to be the number one
I am sure; you might think you want to see your ad at the top of the Google search result page. It feels good too to be on top of the tree at the Yahoo page (Overture). But, it won't feel good when you look at your bank balance while your competitors enjoy sitting in lower positions. They know that to be successful in Pay Per Click you have to match your bid to your conversion through your site. Anyone can buy the number one position for a particular keyword in Google. But, you don't need to be there unless it is making money for you.
2. You need to implement a strategy
The PPC strategy of some companies amounts to little more bidding than their competitors. This is a path of disaster for them. You need to work out how much you are prepared to pay for each click before entering the PPC arena. Set a budget and stick to it. Don't go to the PPC arena unprepared. Make sure you spend only what you can afford.
3. No need to swamp the market
Too many companies decide to be in every PPC network available; not only big players such as Overture (Yahoo! Search Marketing) and Google Adwords but also the small players such as Ask, MIVA, Mirago, etc. Too many different PPC campaigns, each of with different rules and different funds are more often to be jumped by most new advertisers. First, run your campaign on one network to get a touch and when you feel more confident, go for the next. Walk before you can run.
4. You will never convert your traffic into sales without a good site
Pay Per Click Campaigns can do so much for you. If your site doesn’t show your visitors what they want immediately then they are likely to go for another site. It's important to use landing pages for full potential and give your consumers what they want because consumers are less patient online.
Buying traffic is a matter of finding the right keyword and the right advert at the right price. But unless your site is ready, this traffic isn't going to convert into sales.
