If you think the title is absurb, then it is because you have not buy coffee maker for your family yet. Buying a coffee maker for personal consumption is very different from getting one for family use.

Now, you would have to agreed with me that buying coffee maker for own consumption is pretty tough. You need to do many rounds of evaluation prior to deciding which is the best coffee maker.

Talking about best, would it interest you to learn about how to get free coffee or pick some brewing skills from the free coffee course?

In a family unit, that decision making is multiply by the number of family members you have and the difficulties goes up. It is the case of one man's food, being another man's poison, so going ahead with your choice would usually offend someone. And this is just one of the road blocks in reaching a decision, there are so many other factors preventing the family to come to an agreement on a coffee maker.

Other than family, even in company, where you pool resources to buy coffee maker for better tea breaks, you would faced situation such as this. So, what solution can I possibly offer to you?

Managing this big unit's decision is not easy. It is about aligning everyone's expectations and ensuring that everyone is happy.

If you are looking forward to reading stuff like "team work", "shared decision making" and those "Steven Covey" stuff, you are in the wrong place pal. This is still an article about coffee makers, and I would he sharing about a coffee maker that can solve all these issues.

Here is my thought: we are all lazy folks, and if a coffee maker that appeals to this side of us, it would be well accepted. Trust me, no matter how much one loves coffee and would like to try to tamp, dose or even roast their own coffee, there would be a time where he or she just want to have it easy.

Nobody would say no to a push button solution, that is the reason why despite the rise of all those fancy coffee shops, the vending machines are still around. The ease brought about by the vending machines is their competitive advantage that the "starbucks" would never be able to match.

Of course, I am not about to ask you to get a vending machine for your home usage. Instead, I am asking you to propose a single serve coffee maker, a machine that is so easy to use and maintain but is able to brew roast and ground standard coffee.

Good coffee that is easy to brew should be able to get you many votes. With the technology available currently, many model of single serve coffee makers also allows you to choose any blend of coffee.

All you need to do is to purchase devices like Perfect pod maker and you would be able to use any coffee blends you like.

Now, lets review what you are proposing to your family members, a machine that is easy to use and maintain. This coffee maker is also able to brew good quality coffee and any blend of coffee that your folks like.

Tell me, with so many value add, what can possiblly prevent them from accepting your proposal? Not only would you not offend anyone, you would probably be receiving kudos for solving a family problem!
